Happy Birthday Pink Shoe Club!

Celebrations for the 4th anniversary of the club’s launch were another truly sparkling evening!

Members and friends enjoyed pink fizz and a glorious buffet as they socialized with other inspiring guests in our favourite rooms overlooking Westminster Abbey’s secret gardens, which were magnificent in their spring splendour.

The event was filled to capacity with leading ladies and a sprinkling of gentlemen too, as we celebrated the huge success of the club on this wonderfully sunny evening. Some of the guests were members from the Club's beginning, whilst others were enjoying their first event.

Party-goers included TV presenters, senior parliamentarians, leading entrepreneurs and business owners, charity founders and academics.

Numerous business cards were exchanged as we shared ideas and opportunities along with the celebrations – not to mention lots of conversations on who was wearing the best pink shoes and where they’d been bought...

With musical accompaniment from Michael L Roberts, playing marvellously on the baby grand, we heard an eclectic selection of jazz favourites.

Michael generously donated to Save the Children Fund, 20% of sales during the event of his recently released CD.

We then enjoyed special and unique entertainment from Pink Shoe Ambassador Vena Ramphal, who delighted the crowd with her extraordinarily powerful classical Indian dance celebrating the Goddess in us all.

Vena is a Passion Coach (http://www.venaramphal.com/) and now dances only on very special occasions – clearly this was such a happening.

A surprise then came, as Pink Shoe Founder Helene Martin Gee was presented with four birthday cupcakes complete with pink candles, which graced the now famous Pink Shoe pudding plates – this time resplendent with pink shoe-wearing Easter bunnies too!

With the party going on far later than planned, we enjoyed a final serenade from Michael, then Ambassador Karen Felix hit the high notes to sing us out with an impromptu ‘Summer Time’ for the perfect end to an outstanding evening!

The Pink Shoe Swish Reception

On Thursday March 31st we swapped til we dropped at this year’s spring swish! Having cleared out the clutter, Pink Shoe members and friends arrived with bags of surplus goodies to swap with each other.

From designer to high street there was plenty to choose from as we mingled over fizz & nibbles waiting to claim our favourites.

Everyone was soooooooooo well behaved as we each selected just one most-desired piece, then it was all up for grabs!
Top international film stylist and Pink Shoe Ambassador Kenteas Brine helped us style our new looks, giving great advice and tips. Kaz was especially thrilled to see a favourite Chanel suit go to a good home, just in time for someone’s big interview (good luck!!).
We were also able to try the beautiful bespoke jewellery handcrafted by Dalia Vainorius, who bought a super selection along for the evening. As we all agreed, not just a necklace but a work of art to wear! And we all LOVED the idea that she can turn an old favourite into something new, and vowed to dig out Granny’s pearls. Some ladies left with as much as they could carry, others more sedately with just one or two select items. But we all agreed it was a great way to jazz up our wardrobes in time for summer, and were delighted to see our friends enjoying our once-loved but no longer useful clothes, shoes & accessories.

This was a fashion reception with a difference and we’ll definitely be swishing again later in the year – just in time to swap evening clothes in the run up to the party season!

And if you simply can’t wait until then, check out www.swishing.org for details of a swish near you.
