MP of the Year

In the grand surroundings of the Speaker's House at the House of Commons, Patchwork Foundation held its annual MP of the Year ceremony. 

The event was well attended by MPs of all Parties to hear the winner announced: Chuka Umunna MP.

The Female Quotient International Conference

After a warm welcome to the Attlee Suite of the House of Commons from Pink Shoe founder Helene Martin Gee, the FQ programme began with an inspiring keynote on High Growth Business from Sara Murray OBE, founder of Buddi and tipped as one of the Top 10 UK entrepreneurs to watch. 











Jennifer Bisceglie, Chairman of Women Impacting Public Policy in the US then gave an insoght into how the Economic Blueprint will work and the exciting collabotation between WIPP and PSC. 


The conference aim was to generate tangible ideas that will form the UK's own Blueprint, working with WIPP on delivering a relevant and effective body to directly improve business conditions for women in the UK.




This action packed day featured world class speakers and lots of interaction with delegates. 

Pink Shoe meets Global WIN Delegation in Brussels

Helene Martin Gee represented Pink Shoe Club to meet with a high powered delegation from Washington, all members of the Global Women's Innovation Network. 











Brilliantly organised by Helen Milby and Lauren Wessler this was an action-packed trip and we were delighted to be involved.

IoD Annual Convention

The theme of this year's annual IoD Convention was 'Where Game Changers do Business'. A group of Pink Shoe members were able to attend the convention, once again held at the Royal Albert Hall, and enjoy inspiring speakers from the world of international business and social enterprise. 

Splendours at London Fashion Week

It was a glittering evening for ‘Splendours of the Commonwealth’. The pre-launch event of London Fashion Week at the gorgeous May Fair Hotel. 

In aid of The Commonwealth Countries League Education Fund (CCLEF) the glamour was not just on the catwalk - with many guests displaying a stunning array of Commonwealth national costumes.

After canapés and Champagne we were piped to our seats for the show itself. 

The catwalk featured fabulous designs from hugely talented young Commonwealth designers. Every aspect of the show was created and choreographed by young women who donated their time and skills to support the charity.

We heard from some recipients about the extraordinary difference education has made to their lives and that of their families and communities. CCLEF has sponsored thousands of girls so far and is currently helping over 400 bright young women to complete their secondary education. Delegation from the USA

Leading Parliamentarians along with our founder Helene Martin Gee were delighted to host guests from the USA visiting the UK to attend the Queen Charlotte's Ball. 












Organized by the London Season the delegation was given a tour of the Palace of Westminster followed by tea & scones.

Pink Shoes on the Terrace

On two of the Fridays in August Pink Shoe members met for a relaxed lunch on the House of Lords terrace.  A fabulous group of ladies were with us for each occasion and the conversation covered widely diverse and fascinating topics. 

  

These informal events have become a popular institution over the years as we take a summer break from our usual events and activities. As ever we were very well looked after by the river room team and on both days also extremely lucky with the weather!

After a wonderful afternoon on the last Friday in August we also said au revoir to our fabulous summer Intern Dory Gazic who returns to Vienna to complete the final semester of her Business & Economics degree. Thank you Dory for all your help and hard work during the summer months!
